General Hospital's Nicolas Bechtel (Spencer Cassadine) is set to be the world's next Disney Channel star.
It looks like General Hospital's Nicolas Bechtel (Spencer Cassadine) will soon be trading in soap operas for comedy. The pint-sized actor is a star in Stuck in the Middle, a sitcom that was just picked up by Disney Channel.
Variety reports that Bechtel -- who already has quite an impressive rsum for a boy of such a young age -- will be starring in the new show, which is a Latino-based series that follows Harley (Jenna Ortega, Jane the Virgin), an engineering whiz who uses her inventions to navigate life as the middle child in a large family of seven kids. Bechtel plays Harley's brother Danny.
Other stars include Ronni Hawk as Rachel, Kayla Maisonet as Georgie, Issak Presley as Grant, Malachi Barton as Beast, and Ariana Greenblatt as Daphne.
Stuck in the Middle is executive produced by Linda Videtti Figueiredo (Rules of Engagement, Last Man Standing), who will also act as showrunner.
At this time, there's no word from GH about whether or not this new role will affect Bechtel's status with the ABC soap, and if so, if the role of Spencer will be recast.
Bechtel has played the role since 2013.
