General Hospital has confirmed that Emmy winner Billy Miller will be joining the cast this fall in the role of Jason Morgan. Miller previously appeared on All My Children and The Young and the Restless.
The rumors of The Young and the Restless and All My Children vet Billy Miller's addition to General Hospital have been swirling for months, but ABC is now confirming the Emmy winner's addition to the long-running soap.
"Billy Miller is joining the cast of @GeneralHospital in the role of Jason Morgan," GH executive producer Frank Valentini shared on Twitter after a playful exchange with head writer Ron Carlivati. "Welcome to Port Charles Billy"
"I am really excited to be working with such a talented and acclaimed actor as Billy," Valentini later said in a statement. "Our cast is thrilled that he will be joining the GH family, and I know that he will be an amazing addition to our talented cast."

Miller's name had been bandied about -- most often as a new Jason Morgan -- for a General Hospital role ever since fans learned that Miller would be exiting his role as Billy Abbott on Y&R. In November 2013, fans were stunned to learn that Y&R had put out cloaked casting calls for the role of Billy in the event that contract talks with Miller failed. Ultimately, Miller declined Y&R execs' final offer on a new contract, something Miller would later call "the hardest thing I've ever done."
Miller began his daytime run in 2007 as Richie Novak on ABC's All My Children. After exiting AMC, Miller debuted on The Young and the Restless in September 2008, becoming the fourth actor in six years to play the role of Billy. Miller was named Outstanding Supporting Actor at the Daytime Emmys in 2010 and in 2013. Earlier this year he picked up an Outstanding Lead Actor trophy.
Until some recent mentions that the character was being kept in a cryogenic storage pod, the role of Jason Morgan has been off-canvas since October 2012, when actor Steve Burton exited GH. Burton resurfaced several months later on The Young and the Restless in the newly created role of Dylan McAvoy.
