GH's Jeff Kober back as Cyrus

General Hospital viewers were surprised to have Jeff Kober back on their screens on Tuesday, when Cyrus Renault was seen back in action -- albeit behind bars.

Villains are never really gone on soaps, and General Hospital just proved that once again with the return of Jeff Kober in the role of Cyrus Renault.

Viewers who tuned in to the Tuesday, August 31, episode of the ABC soap opera were treated to scenes in which the master manipulator appeared on the screen when he received a visitor at the prison in which he's been incarcerated since June. He's baaack, baby! But what about those bars that he's behind? Will they hinder Cyrus' ability to stir up trouble? Well, anyone who knows anything about the guy knows the answer: fat chance!

Kober first took on the role of Cyrus in early 2020 and quickly became one of Port Charles's most-feared baddies. He was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award in the Outstanding Supporting Actor category for his work on the ABC drama.

When the character left the canvas in June of 2021, most fans knew he would likely be back because he is related to both Laura (Genie Francis) and Martin (Michael E. Knight) -- which means there will always be story to tell where Cyrus is concerned.

Some of Kober's other credits include Falcon Crest, Big Dogs, NCIS: Los Angeles, Sons of Anarchy, New Girl, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
