A revealing new memoir sheds light on the turbulent life of Hollywood actress and former General Hospital star Demi Moore (ex-Jackie Templeton).
Considering the world has seen her bare her body in the film Striptease and pose naked while seven months pregnant on the cover of Vanity Fair, one might assume there's not much more that actress Demi Moore could bare. But the daytime alum, who got her break playing General Hospital character Jackie Templeton in the early 1980s, is shedding even more in her new memoir Inside Out.
In what the book's editor describes as a "wrenchingly honest portrayal of one woman's at once ordinary and iconic life," Moore opens up about pain from her childhood, her rise to fame, her issues with body image, and addiction. She also writes about balancing her career, raising her daughters (Rumer, 30; Scout, 27; and Tallulah, 25), and her three marriages -- including her relationship with ex-husbands Bruce Willis (they were married from 1987-2000) and Ashton Kutcher (2005-2013).
"Inside Out is first and foremost a woman's story; that the woman in question happens to be one of the most celebrated actresses of our time only makes her journey of vulnerability, strength, and self-acceptance all that more resonant," says Jennifer Barth, executive editor of Harper Collins, in a statement. "I think readers are going to be surprised -- and moved -- by this book."

Born in New Mexico, Moore survived a chaotic and unhealthy childhood before she quit school at the age of 16 and became a pinup model. She got her first major break into acting at the age of 19, when she landed the role of reporter Jackie Templeton on GH, which she played from 1982 to 1983. The young actress has admitted that she used her first GH paychecks for partying and cocaine -- habits she brought with her to her breakout film, St. Elmo's Fire. Moore was treated for drug and alcohol addiction and then went on to make a name for herself in major films like Ghost, Indecent Proposal, Disclosure, and G.I. Jane.
"Inside Out is a story of survival, success, and surrender -- as well as resilience," says the book's press release. "[It's] a wrenchingly honest portrayal of one woman's at once ordinary and iconic life."
Inside Out is set to be released on Tuesday, September 24. For more information and to pre-order the book, visit Harper Collins Publishers. You can also check out a video clip of Moore as GH's Jackie sharing a scene with Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) below.
