General Hospital stars are taking to Twitter to share their thoughts on Steve Burton's decision to leave General Hospital later this year. Their remarks echo those of fans: they're sad to see the actor go, but understand his desire to spend more time with his family.
Fans aren't the only ones weighing in on yesterday's confirmed departure of long-time General Hospital fixture Steve Burton (Jason Morgan). The actor's co-stars are also sad to see him go.
"Steve leaving is like a family member leaving the house," wrote Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos), whose alter ego has one of daytime's best-known "bromances" with Burton's Jason. "I may cry like a little girl who just lost her puppy."
"I'm sure most of you are sad about Stevie B. but I'm sure most of you understand his need to move on and have a life change. 21 yrs is a long time," Laura Wright (Carly Jacks) offered. "Steve [is] so talented with so many interest I am happy and excited for my friend who I will miss !!"

"Wow, bummed my boy Steve will be leaving GH after 21 years! I'm also very happy for him, he [is] ready for a change," Derk Cheetwood (Max Giambetti) posted.
"A true mensch. The halls of #GH won't be the same," Brandon Barash (Johnny Zacharra) shared.
"It will be weird without the smell of axe body spray permeating the halls of GH," mused Bradford Anderson (Damian Spinelli), who, with Burton, Barash, and Scott Reeves (Steven Webber), make up the band Port Chuck.
"I'm planning a protest," Kirsten Storms (Maxie Jones) weighed in.
"You've carved a solid, tough, path to follow @1SteveBurton," Erik Valdez (Trey Mitchell) said. "I'm honored I have had the chance to work along side you, if only for a while!"
"Steve's chosen to move to his family to Tennessee. He's been wanting to do it for a long time. I'm happy for him and his family," Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis) remarked.
"Steve, quitting? I'll say this about @1SteveBurton nothing about this guy is a 'quitter,'" Jason Thompson (Patrick Drake) added. "Gracious, caring, professional. And a family man!"
Burton is currently scheduled to tape his final episode in September, though the actor hinted on Twitter that he might stick around longer to help the show wrap up his character's storyline.
