Contract negotiations between General Hospital and William deVry (Julian Jerome) haven't been smooth, but the actor shares he's confident a deal can be worked out.
General Hospital fans haven't been able to rest easy since William deVry (Julian Jerome) finished out his contract with the ABC soap last month and has yet to iron out a new deal. But the actor remains hopeful that he'll make a return to Port Charles in the near future.
"We're chatting. It's all very slow. It's like a slow boat to China, it seems like, which seems to be fine with them and it's fine with me," the actor tells Soap Opera Digest, adding that he's been enjoying the time off since finishing up taping back in June.

"There are a few things that I've got in the fire. One of them might hold me out until April of next year, if that were to happen, which would delay [GH's] story a little bit. So I'm hoping that we can get a deal done before too much time passes," he shares. "I just feel like it's so close [to a positive outcome] that I can't not happen... I feel like I'm being reasonable, and we'll get it done."
That being said, he's remaining realistic throughout the process.
"There have been some fan favorites who thought for sure they'd be back and weren't, so I can't say 100 percent," he cautions. "But I'm confident."
