Emma Samms (Holly Sutton Scorpio) will be headed back to Port Charles in the coming weeks. The actress made the announcement to fans at this past weekend's General Hospital Fan Club event.
"Guess the secret's out," General Hospital's executive producer, Frank Valentini, wrote on Twitter.
In confirming the news, Valentini also shared a photo of himself with Samms in the green room at GH.
Samms originated the role of Holly in 1982. After leaving General Hospital in 1985, Samms went on to appear on the primetime soap, Dynasty, and later starred in the Dynasty spin-off, The Colbys. Samms returned to GH from 1992 to 1993, and made guest appearances in 2006, 2009, and 2012.
In addition to her soap-related work, Samms has appeared in numerous made-for-television movies and guest-starred on countless primetime series.
A timeline for Samms' return was not discussed, and Samms made a point of saying that she could not discuss any of the details surrounding her reprisal of Holly.
