General Hospital's Lexi Ainsworth is bringing Kristina Corinthos-Davis back to Port Charles later this summer.
General Hospital is amping up the summer heat with the return of Lexi Ainsworth in the role of Kristina Corinthos-Davis.
The central character will be back in Port Charles later this summer, reports Soap Opera Digest, and fans couldn't be more thrilled; her return is a calming balm for viewers who've been a little shaken by many cast changes in recent months.
"I'm so excited I can finally tell people that I'm back!" the actress wrote on Twitter about reprising the role she took on in 2009.

The last time GH fans saw Alexis and Sonny's daughter was last October, when Kristina and her girlfriend Parker (Ashley Jones) decided to skip town together. No word yet on whether or not Ainswoth's return means Jones will be heading back to GH, as well.
Fans were quite disappointed to see Parker and Lexi leave Port Charles, but ABC executive Nathan Varni did promise viewers that their romance would likely be revisited.
"We had hoped to continue the story longer but one of the actresses booked another big show," he revealed last fall. "Pausing for now but hope to continue later."
Word at the time was that Varni was referring to Ainsworth, who booked a role on Major Crimes last year (as did Jones, funny enough). The series aired its final episode in January, though, meaning it will no longer keep Ainsworth from telling all the stories the GH powers that be would like her to tell. At this time, however, it's unclear how long the actress will be on the ABC soap's canvas. Fingers crossed it's long enough to satiate Ainsworth-hungry fans.
How do you feel about Ainsworth's return to GH? What do you think will bring her back to the canvas? We want to hear from you -- so drop your comments in the Comments section below, tweet about it on Twitter, share it on Facebook, or chat about it on our Message Boards.
