Former General Hospital star Matt Cohen (ex-Dr. Griffin Munro) returns to the CW's Supernatural, this time in the director's chair. And that's the not the only exciting thing on the actor's plate.
The CW hit Supernatural will have an exciting twist for its 15th and final season: Matt Cohen (ex-Dr. Griffin Munro, General Hospital) is returning to the series on which he appeared as Young John Winchester, but this time, the actor will be directing.
TV Line reports that Cohen will be helming one of the episodes slated for the upcoming season, which will also see the return of Jake Abel as Adam. As viewers may recall, Adam was sent to Hell in season five of the series and hasn't been seen since.

No other details have been released about Cohen's directing gig for Supernatural, which stars Days of our Lives alum Jensen Ackles (ex-Eric Brady). The actor's previous directing credits include six episodes of Cowgirl Up and his own film Mama Bear.
Cohen joined GH in the role of Griffin Munro in 2016. Earlier this year, he decided to leave the ABC soap opera, stating: "It was a great time and I had great fun playing the character, but I'm a guy who gets uncomfortable when he gets comfortable. I need to give Griffin a little rest right now... Maybe I'll pop into GH every once in a while? That'll be up to Frank [Valentini, executive director] and the writers as to what we do."
Since leaving Port Charles, Cohen hasn't been resting on his laurels. In addition to signing on to direct Supernatural, he has taken on reporting duties for Entertainment Tonight, most recently covering the red carpet for Toy Story 4.
