GH rebounds in ratings; only soap to increase total viewership

General Hospital rallies in an attempt to keep its hold in the ratings game.

It looks like General Hospital is showing who's boss. Following a dismal streak in the ratings game, the ABC soap has finally rebounded and was actually the only soap opera to increase its viewership for the week of July 6 through July 10.

GH added 184,000 audience members during the week, bringing its total up to 2,723,000. What's more, it gained in all three women's categories (18-34, 18-49, and 25-54).

Though Anthony Geary (Luke Spencer) wasn't thrilled with the reveal that little Jake (James Nigbor) is alive, the storyline helped boost the soap's ratings, as did the return of Jonathan Jackson as Lucky.

Meanwhile, The Young and the Restless held firm in its position as the top-rated daytime drama with a respectable 4,920,000 audience members, while The Bold and the Beautiful came in at number two with a total of 3,694,000.

Days of our Lives, which was rumored to possibly overtake GH in the ratings, was slightly down from the previous week, only garnering a total of 2,344,000 viewers.

What do you think about GH bouncing back in the ratings game? Do you think the increase in numbers will last? Do you think DAYS can bring in more viewers and steal GH's ratings slot? If so, how?
