General Hospital actress Laura Wright (Carly Corinthos) shares that she's isolating after a positive COVID-19 test result that has left her stranded out-of-state. Will her diagnosis force the ABC soap to temporarily recast the role of Carly?
Summer vacation took an unexpected turn for General Hospital actress Laura Wright (Carly Corinthos), who shared on Friday that she is isolating in Colorado after testing positive for COVID-19.
The actress had been enjoying a family getaway in the Centennial state with her boyfriend, Wes Ramsey (ex-Peter August), when she learned the news.
"Amazing vacation, not so amazing ending," the actress shared in her Instagram Stories, along with a snapshot of her at-home COVID test reading a positive result. "Been isolating in Fort Collins -- watching every serial killer show ever made. #Netflix"

Further into the weekend, Wright reported that the binge-watching was ongoing, as was the recovery process.
"Ok lots of TV time while we are on the couch with COVID -- yes still feeling bad," she shared. "Right now we are finishing Midnight Mass. CRAZY!!! Haaaa And yes we've seen Terminal List -- so good!!!"
Many GH fans are wondering how Wright's diagnosis might affect her time as Carly. The ABC soap opera has experienced a lot of temporary recasts in recent months, including The Young and the Restless alum Robert Adamson (ex-Noah Newman) recently stepping in for Chad Duell (Michael Corinthos) due to "COVID-related" reasons. Will something similar have to be done for the role of Carly?
Fortunately, the answer looks to be no: Wright tweeted that the ABC soap is "on break right now, so, I'll be good when we start shooting again."
Fingers crossed that Wright is correct and that she'll be back to good health and filming scenes as Carly very soon!
