Soap alums to speak at Republican National Convention

Former soap stars Kimberlin Brown (ex-Sheila Carter, The Young and the Restless/The Bold and the Beautiful) and Antonio Sabto Jr. (ex-Jagger Cates, General Hospital) are showing their political support in a big way.

The 2016 presidential race is heating up, and two former soap stars are joining in on the action.

The Republican National Convention kicks off on Monday, July 18, in Cleveland, Ohio, and both Kimberlin Brown (ex-Sheila Carter, The Young and the Restless/The Bold and the Beautiful) and Antonio Sabto Jr. (ex-Jagger Cates, General Hospital) are on the list of special guests scheduled to speak during the event.

Other notable speakers include Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka Trump, UFC president Dana White, House Speaker Newt Gringrich, Senator Ted Cruz, and more.

On Twitter, Brown stated that on Tuesday evening, she will be "speaking on small business."

It is unknown at this time if any soap stars will be speaking the following week at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.
