Asher Antonyzyn was back in his native Chicago for a little soap chat about his life on General Hospital.
With Steve Burton's Jason Morgan back on General Hospital, the character finally gets to explore his relationship with his two teenage sons. One son, Jake, is still not sure how he feels about his dad, but his younger son, Danny, idolizes him. As Danny and Jason have grown closer, fans have gotten to know Asher Antonyzyn, the young actor bringing Danny to life.
On July 11, Antonyzyn sat down with Tracy Butler and Diane Pathieu, the hosts of SoapChat on ABC7 in Chicago, the young actor's hometown. Antonyzyn, who turns 15 on August 9, told them how thrilled he is to get the chance to work with a soap vet like Burton.
"Working with Steve, he's like such an energetic guy," Antonyzyn said. "He welcomed me right in. Like the bond you see on-camera is what you see off-camera. Working with him has been such a great learning experience. Learning from a legend like him is so awesome."
After praising Burton, Antonyzyn received quite a surprise when the hosts read a special text message his on-screen dad sent to Pathieu.
"It has been awesome to get to know Asher. We have a great time working together and it's really cool to see him grow as an actor. The future is bright for him. Looking forward to see what the show has in store for us."
As for the future for Danny and Jason, Antonyzyn was able to offer a hint that something big is on the horizon soon.
"Coming up, there's going to be some tough decisions that Danny is going to have to make," he said. "There's going to be some challenges coming up for Danny, so stay tuned for that. It's going to be awesome."
As of now, Danny's mother Sam does not want her son spending too much time with Jason because she feels his lifestyle is too dangerous. So far, Danny has resisted. Will Danny soon get a taste of what Jason's life is really like?
