As General Hospital topples in ratings, Days of our Lives prepares to steal the ABC soap's position as the third most-watched daily drama.
The most recent soap opera ratings report is out, and it looks like General Hospital is on the verge of becoming the lowest-rated soap opera, while a previously struggling Days of our Lives is working hard to steal the ABC soap's slot as the third most-watched daily drama.
GH took a dip in ratings for the week of June 22 to June 26, averaging 2,660,000 in total viewers (256,000 short of its numbers last year). In addition, the figures for its 18-49 demographic continue to plummet.
Meanwhile, Days of our Lives managed to snag an extra 55,000 viewers for the week, bringing their overall total up to 2,353,000 -- a mere 300,000 viewers short of GH, which holds the position as the third most-watched soap opera currently on US television.

As for The Bold and the Beautiful and The Young and the Restless, both continue to hold strong, as they did during the last ratings report. Y&R is up almost half a million viewers from this time last year (really!), while B&B grabbed a total of 3,742,000, cementing its place as the second most-watched soap opera.
