General Hospital fave Leslie Charleson (Monica Quartermaine) is ready to get back to work. The actress has been recuperating from a leg injury she sustained in a fall in April.

It's been nearly three months since Leslie Charleson (Monica Quartermaine) has been sidelined with an injury, but the longtime General Hospital star is finally ready to report back to work.

In April, Charleson took to social media to share the news that a dog walk turned unexpectedly dangerous and she'd suffered a leg injury.

As luck would have it, the woefully underused Charleson just happened to have a substantial number of scheduled work days right at the same time that she was injured. General Hospital was forced to make an emergency recast and tapped Patty McCormack to temporarily take over the role of Monica. While her stint was short, McCormack was quickly enamored with the world of daytime television.

"It's sort of a high to do something by the seat of your pants like this," she says. "It reminds me of how fun it is to belong to a group."

Charleson revealed on Twitter that she'll be back on-set on July 23. That means she'll likely air at the end of August.

Charleson also recently thanked fans for all their well wishes.

Charleson joined General Hospital in 1977.

UPDATE (July 23, 2018): Leslie Charleson returned to work today as previously announced. General Hospital's official Twitter account said the show "couldn't be more excited" to have her back and reminded us that "Monica will be back on-air before you know it." Charleson summed up her feelings in six words: "Sure felt good to be back"
