General Hospital is bringing TV vet Morgan Fairchild to Port Charles! The actress is set to hit the canvas as Haven de Havilland, a "very fun and over-the-top" Home & Heart hostess.
Television fans are going to go wild over the latest casting news out of General Hospital: Morgan Fairchild (ex-Anjelica Deveraux, Days of our Lives; ex-Sydney Chase, The City) has been plucked for a super fun guest-starring role.
Soap Opera Digest reports that the Falcon Crest alum will be hitting the canvas the week of June 27 as Haven de Havilland, the hostess of Home & Heart, who will welcome Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) to her program to talk about Deception's products.
Fairchild enthuses that the role of Haven was practically made for her, because she's an expert on home shopping networks. "Joan Rivers and I were the first two celebrities that had product lines on QVC back in the late '80s," the actress shares. "So, I'm familiar with the genre and with how it works."

The Dallas, Texas, native also loved what GH's writers created for the episode in which she appears. "It was such a great script," she says. "My character is very fun and over-the-top -- my usual over-the-top thing! -- and a little bit mean, which I can play falling off a log at this point in my life!"
As for the GH cast, Fairchild says she was really impressed with the caliber of talent at the ABC soap opera.
"The other actors really gave their all," she shares. "One of the girls [in the cast] had a very emotional scene in there and it was great. Lynn [Herring, Lucy] was so gracious and lovely."
Working on GH also gave Fairchild the chance to reunite with Lisa LoCicero (Olivia Falconeri), with whom she worked on The City, where LoCicero played Jocelyn Roberts.
"It was so great to see her," Fairchild says. "Her dressing room was right next to mine, and she said, 'Come and stop over when you have a break!' I never had a break until I was finished, but when I was done for the day, I got to sit in her dressing room for a while and catch up. She's a lovely girl. I got to see pictures of her kids and it was just great to see how well she's doing."
In addition to The City and DAYS, Fairchild played Jennifer Pace on Search for Tomorrow in the early 70s and Dorothy on The Bold and the Beautiful in 2009. Some of her other credits include Mork & Mindy, Paper Dolls, North and South, Cybill, Friends, and Fashion House.
