Maurice Benard comments on Vanessa Marcil General Hospital rumors: "We are working on something, but..."

General Hospital's Maurice Benard gives a status update regarding Vanessa Marcil that might send Sonny and Brenda fans into a tizzy.

Fan favorite General Hospital alum Vanessa Marcil (Brenda Barrett) has had a lot of fun dropping numerous hints about a possible return to Port Charles, but have her GH-related posts just been a big tease?

During this year's Daytime Emmy Awards red carpet event, Marcil's former colleague Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos) cleared up any and all rumors about a possible Brenda return. When asked if Marcil is coming back, he very definitively declared, "No!"

However, it's not all doom and gloom. The rest of his answer, given to Soaps, reveals that Sonny and Brenda fans have something else exciting to look forward to.

"We've got something we're working on right now, but not GH," Benard reveals, adding, "If it happens, it's gonna be great. Fans [will go] crazy."
