A small fire broke out earlier today at the home of General Hospital star Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos).
The celebrity tattle site, TMZ.com, reports that the fire began in the bathroom of Benard's home in Temecula, California, after a towel had been left on a light fixture. Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze, and there were no reported injuries.
Benard's wife, Paula, took to Twitter shortly after the fire, stating, "This is Paula. The fire was small and Thank God, everyone's fine."
Benard is nominated for a Daytime Emmy this year in the Outstanding Lead Actor category. It is the actor's fourth nomination. He won the award in 2003.
