The Santa Monica Webfest loved Mama Bear, a gritty short film by General Hospital alum Matt Cohen (ex-Griffin Munro). The action-packed project won Best Short and its star, Jeffrey Vincent Parise (ex-Carlos Rivera), won in the Best Actor category.
Congratulations are in order for General Hospital alums Matt Cohen (ex-Griffin Munro) and Jeffrey Vincent Parise (ex-Carlos Rivera; ex-Simon Black, The Young and the Restless), who were both honored over the weekend by the Santa Monica Webfest. The film organization named Cohen's film, Mama Bear, as its Best Short and the film's star, Parise, as Best Actor.
As Soap Central previously reported, Mama Bear is a "face-melting, pedal-to-the-metal" comedy that follows a regular, everyday soccer mom with a hidden, violent past who has 24 hours to save her dying son in need of a transplant -- but it means hunting down her powerful crime lord ex-husband and taking his liver.
After news came out that the short had taken home top honors in the Short Film category, Cohen took to Twitter, sharing, "Thanks so much! What an honor!"
