All My Children's Walt Willey will step back into the shoes of Jackson Montgomery for the first time in twelve years. The fan-favorite actor is set to appear on General Hospital next month.
For the first time in more than a decade, All My Children fans are about to get an update on the life of one of Pine Valley's favorite residents.
Walt Willey is set to reprise his role as Jackson Montgomery on General Hospital beginning next month. ABC hasn't officially commented, but Willey took to Facebook to share the news.
"Ill be doing a few episodes of General Hospital, due to air mid July. So excited to reprise my character and see and work with old friends," Willey shared. "Jackson in Port Charleswho would have thought it? Let me -- and ABC -- know what you think about it!"

Jackson won't be the first legal eagle to make a trip to upstate New York from the Keystone State. One Life to Live's Hillary B. Smith (Nora Buchanan) made the trek from Llanview for a handful of appearances in 2017 and 2019. Florencia Lozano's Ta Delgado also appeared briefly in 2012.
Since the cancellation of All My Children and One Life to Live in 2011, nearly all of the crossovers have been from One Life to Live. Three OLTL characters -- Starr Manning, Todd Manning, and John McBain -- were slated to become permanent fixtures on GH until legal battles changed that. And, in addition to Nora and Ta, Blair Cramer and Cole Thornhart have made short-term appearances.
Alexandra Devane, Anna's twin sister, is a character that was created on All My Children in 1999. She's popped up on several occasions on General Hospital over the years. In 2021, someone name "D. Marick" -- was referenced on the show. There was speculation that it might be Dimitri Marick or someone related to him. The character never appeared on-screen, and shortly thereafter, Michael Nader, who played the role of Dimitri, passed away at age 76.
That's not counting the former AMC stars who are now appearing on General Hospital. Cameron Mathison (Drew Cain; ex-Ryan Lavery), James Patrick Stuart (Valentin Cassadine; ex-Will Cortlandt), and Michael E. Knight (Martin Gray; ex-Tad Martin) are all familiar faces to All My Children fans. Whether or not Willey's Jackson will "recognize" them remains to be seen.
This will not be the first time that Willey's alter ego has crossed over to another soap. In 1996, Jackson appeared on the short-lived soap The City.
Walt Willey first appeared as Jackson Montgomery in 1987. He remained in the role until AMC's final episode aired on ABC on September 23, 2011. In that final episode, All My Children viewers saw Jack telling off-and-on and on-and-off love interest Erica Kane, "Frankly, Erica, I don't give a damn what you need." Will we finally find out what happened to Jack and Erica? Stay tuned...
Soap Opera Digest first reported the news of Willey's appearance on GH.
