GH and OLTL writer pens new drama

Emmy award-nominated General Hospital and One Life to Live writer, Scott C. Sickles, is presenting a new dramatic production.

Master of soap operas Scott C. Sickles, who's been nominated for Daytime Emmys as part of both General Hospital and One Life to Live's writing teams, has a new drama headed to the stage.

New York City's Work Shop Theater Company will be presenting Sickles' powerful new play, Composure, on Thursday, June 11, and Saturday, June 20. The play tells the tale of a modern-day star-crossed romance between two men whose past tragedies come back to haunt them.

Says the official announcement: "Two households: Fletcher Driscoll, returning to his hometown alma mater's theater department, and Jeff Landry, recently divorced and out of the closet. Fletcher is thrust into directing Shakespeare's infamous young-love tragedy in the wake of a recent and real teenage murder-suicide. He and Jeff strike up a 'casual' romance, but their relationship brings with it the weight of all of their emotional baggage, from Jeff's ex-wife Amanda and the memory of her deceased brother, to the resurfacing of Fletcher's long-ago high school best-friend-with-benefits Tommy Stanton and Tommy's obsequious wife, Beth. Despite their attempts to 'get the awkward part out of the way first,' Fletcher and Jeff must stumble through the complications of their relationship to make it out of their own Verona."
