Former General Hospital star Johnny Wactor has tragically died, according to his mother.
Johnny Wactor, who played Brando Corbin on General Hospital from 2020 to 2022, was shot and killed in the early morning hours of Saturday, May 26, TMZ reports. The South Carolina native was 37 years old.
According to the outlet, Wactor's mother, Scarlett, told them her son was with a co-worker when he spotted three men by his car. TMZ claims the incident matches a report of three people attempting to steal a catalytic converter. Scarlett said that the men shot Wactor, despite him not trying to stop them.
TMZ reports that the police and paramedics were on the scene at about 3 AM. Wactor was later pronounced dead when he arrived at the hospital.

Wactor got his TV start on the primetime series Army Wives in 2007, and has appeared in various series and movies since, including Criminal Minds, Training Day, and NCIS. In 2020, he landed the role of Sonny Corinthos' cousin Brando Corbin, a military veteran whose mother, Gladys Corbin, claimed he had died.
Brando went on to become a popular leading man when he was paired with Sofia Mattsson's Sasha Gilmore. The character sadly died at the hands of Heather Webber in late 2022. Since then, Wactor has had roles on NCIS and Barbee Rehab.
When Wactor exited GH, he offered thanks to fans who supported him during his two years in Port Charles.
"I've never been on a show that had such a large fan base," Wactor told Soap Opera Digest. "It was all new to me and it was a blessing. It made it fun to go to work and then be excited about seeing people react to the storylines you were in. That they actually cared was really cool. I'm grateful for the fans, for fans of General Hospital and Brando Corbin and of mine. They made my time on the show all the sweeter."
