Port Charles will soon be without Jasper Jacks. Long-time General Hospital vet Ingo Rademacher has revealed that he's been let go from the ABC soap. Rademacher debuted in 1996.
After nearly 15 years with General Hospital, Ingo Rademacher (Jasper "Jax" Jacks) is out. Several months after hinting to fans that his on-screen time would be cut, Rademacher has now confirmed that he has been let go.
"It is with mixed emotions and regret that I write this note to you, my fans, and colleagues. After 15 years on GH portraying Jax I must say goodbye. I'm fired," Rademacher said in a statement.
Rademacher joined General Hospital in January 1996. He exited the show in August 2000 to pursue an opportunity on the primetime soap Titans, but the series quickly folded.

"I looked at [my role on General Hospital] as more of a two-year thing," Rademacher said at the time. "Then I looked at it as a three-year thing. And then I was like, 'All right, I'll do one more year.' Then, 'I'll stay on for a little bit longer.' But that's it. That'll be almost four and a half years."
A year later, Rademacher returned to Port Charles, and he's been a part of the cast ever since.
Even as his time on General Hospital draws to a close, Rademacher sees a positive side.
"Yes, I know that sounds bad but sometimes little birds need a shove out of the nest to find their wings... better late then never? I'm trying to find some humor in all this. Even though this was not my call, I think my GH days were almost up anyway."
In February, Rademacher informed fans via Twitter that his on-screen time would be cut in the upcoming weeks.
"Don't expect to see me much on GH. Once a week seems to [be] the norm for me... if that," Rademacher posted. "I must have peed in the pool and was fresh out of chlorine. Sorry guys. I don't know what to tell you. It's not my call."
A General Hospital spokesperson confirms that Rademacher will be departing the show, but a final airdate has not yet been announced.
