New gig for GH's James Patrick Stuart

Will General Hospital's James Patrick Stuart "hang up Valentin's dancing shoes" for a new Disney project?! Find out from the actor himself and get the details on the live-action comedy pilot.

Disney Channel has given the green light to a half-hour live-action pilot tentatively titled Amy from Amarillo, and the comedy is set to star James Patrick Stuart (Valentin Cassadine, General Hospital).

Written and executive produced by Chris Peterson and Bryan Moore, the series follows a family of super-villains who must go into hiding in Amarillo, Texas, when they fall afoul of the League of Villains and are about to be liquidated.

Actress Isabella Pappas has landed the title role, while Lucy Davis will play Amy's mom, Eva, a feisty supervillain who shoots electrical current out of her hands. There's no word yet on who Stuart will be playing in the pilot, but the actor assures fans that Amy in Amarillo will not affect his role at GH.

"I am currently working on a Disney Channel comedy pilot," he tweeted. "We film 15 minutes from the GH stage so, should the show get picked up for series, and while it would create scheduling headaches for some very cool people, I have no plans to hang up Valentin's dancing shoes any time soon."

Other actors set for the project that begins production next month include Patricia Belcher, Kayden Muller-Janssen, Malachi Barton, and Reed Horstmann.

Stuart has been playing the role of GH's Valentin since 2016. Some of his other credits include Amphibia, Blaze and the Monster Machines, Monsters vs. Aliens, Supernatural, 90210, and The Closer.
