Is Steve Burton leaving his role as General Hospital's Jason? The actor, who has played the role since 1990, has informed fans whether he's sticking around... or heading out.
Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) has decided whether he'll be continuing his run as General Hospital's Jason. The actor informed fans via Twitter that he inked a new contract.
"Hey all. Just want to announce that you are stuck with me another year," Burton announced to fans via Twitter. "Can't wait to see what happens next."
Burton made his debut as Jason Morgan in 1990. Though he's taken several short breaks from the show, he's been a castmember for nearly that entire 21-year period. The role of Jason, however, was originated back in 1982 by Quinn Carlson. In the 1980s, one other actor, Bryan Beck, appeared on-screen as Jason.
