Fan favorite CBS Daytime alum Tom Pelphrey (ex-Jonathan Randall, Guiding Light; ex-Mick Dante, As the World Turns) has landed a role on Netflix's upcoming superhero series, Iron Fist.
Hot on the heels of the news that One Life to Live alum Laura Harrier (ex-Destiny Evans) has been cast in Marvel's upcoming film Spider-Man: Homecoming comes news that CBS Daytime alum Tom Pelphrey (ex-Jonathan Randall, Guiding Light; ex-Mick Dante, As the World Turns) has also joined a new Marvel project: Netflix's upcoming series Iron Fist.
Variety reports that the actor will be playing the role of Ward Meachum in the series that also stars Game of Thrones' Finn Jones as Danny Rand; 90210 alum Jessica Stroup as Ward's sister, Joy Meachum; Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing; and David Wenham as Harold Meachum (Ward and Joy's father).
Marvel's Iron Fist follows Jones's Danny Rand as he returns to New York City after being missing for years. He fights against the criminal element corrupting New York City with his incredible kung fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist.

Joy and Ward are characters who have spent their entire lives building Rand Enterprises to its current standing, only to have all of their work jeopardized when Danny Rand returns to claim his birthright.
"I'm very happy to have Jessica and Tom as our Joy and Ward Meachum," says executive producer and show runner Scott Buck. "Much like Danny Rand's past is a mystery to us, we'll discover along the way that the Meachum children have intriguing secrets of their own."
Adds Pelphrey via Twitter: "So excited to be joining this team. Thanks for all the support as always!"
