General Hospital stars lend a hand for Habitat for Humanity

Just days after reuniting with the other half of her iconic daytime pairing, Genie Francis is set to reprise her Emmy-winning role as Laura Spencer on ABC's General Hospital.

On Saturday, April 18, 2015, stars from General Hospital picked up hammers and paintbrushes to help Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles. It was the sixth time that the stars of the ABC soap helped build affordable, sustainable homes for hardworking, low-income families and individuals in the Greater Los Angeles area.

In addition to the stars, 20 lucky gans had the opportunity to work alongside the stars for the worthwhile cause.

The first General Hospital Fan Build Day was held in 2009. Brandon Barash and Lisa LoCicero created it as a way to reward fans of the show while becoming more involved with Habitat LA.

As part of our continuing support of Habitat LA's efforts, Soap Central's Dan J Kroll presented the organization with a check for $1,000.

Since 1990, Habitat LA has built and renovated more than 1,000 homes.
