General Hospital casts Sydney Walsh as a prisoner named Maggie

Former The Young and the Restless actress Sydney Walsh (ex-Judge Delores Anderson) has joined General Hospital as Maggie, a Pentonville prisoner who will cross paths with Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn).

General Hospital viewers will soon be meeting a Pentonville prisoner named Maggie, played by The Young and the Restless alum Sydney Walsh (ex-Judge Delores Anderson).

Soap Opera Digest reports that Walsh will be making her debut on the ABC soap opera on Tuesday, April 13, in scenes with Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn), who was recently sentenced to three years in Pentonville. But will Maggie prove to be a friend or a foe during Alexis' time behind bars?

As GH fans saw this week, a prison consultant paid a visit to Alexis to help prepare the legal eagle for her incarceration. The consultant gave Alexis a few tips, including one to steer clear of using humor, as it could win her enemies once she's on the inside. Fortunately, SOD teases that Maggie won't be an enemy to Alexis but rather someone she ends up confiding in... at least in the beginning!

So, what else can viewers expect now that Alexis has pleaded guilty and is going to Pentonville? As Soap Central previously reported, GH will be airing a special Alexis-themed episode on Thursday, April 8, that will illuminate how the character got to such a low point, and it may give fans some hints about how she'll handle her time behind bars.

Sydney Walsh is a New York native whose credits include a 2010 stint as Y&R's Judge Anderson and appearances on series such as Major Crimes, Castle, Without a Trace, Nash Bridges, and Melrose Place.
