Former Guiding Light star Kim Zimmer (ex-Reva Shayne) is hoping to bring down the house in the world premiere of Old Love New Love.
Guiding Light alum Kim Zimmer may no longer be know as the Slut of Springfield, Reva Shayne, but that doesn't mean she's no longer making waves. In fact, the daytime veteran is set to star in the upcoming world premiere of Laura Brienza's play Old Love New Love.
The four-time Emmy winner joins Ava Eisenson, Alfred Gingold, Christopher Halladay, Jane Mandel, Claire McClanahan, and Thomas Molyneaux for the show, which follows a mother and daughter as they navigate the choppy waters of infidelity under very different circumstances: Gloria's husband, Colin, has fallen for another Alzheimer's patient at the facility where he resides, while Michelle's husband, Matt, has strayed after losing a local election and wrestling with his unfulfilled ambitions.
The show is set to premiere on Thursday, April 7, at the Luna Stage in West Orange, NJ, and will run through May 8. But serious Zimmer fans may want to consider attending on a date near Sunday, April 17, because that's the day the GL alum will be having a special meet and greet with fans that includes a Q&A about her career; a short reading of her memoir, I'm Just Saying!; and more.
