General Hospital is turning 51, and the show is set to bring back fan-favorites Sarah Brown and Tamara Braun for a very special episode. Is Port Charles ready for three Carlys?
On April 1, 2014 -- no fooling, here -- General Hospital marks its 51st anniversary. As the longest-running scripted program currently on television, the ABC soap has some very special surprises for fans to help mark the amazing milestone.
"We're trying to make sure we mine the entire field of rich history that is General Hospital as opposed to repeating some of things we've done," executive producer Frank Valentini told Soap Opera Digest. "Instead of competing with ourselves, we didn't want to repeat ourselves. The anniversary episode is really, really special, and there are many, many fun surprises for the audience and many nostalgic moments for them to enjoy."
As part of the surprise, the special episode will mark the return of Emmy winners Sarah Brown (ex-Carly; ex-Claudia) and Tamara Braun (ex-Carly) to General Hospital. Brown originated the role of Carly in 1996. After Brown exited the show in 2001, Braun stepped into the role. The current Carly, Laura Wright, who is also an Emmy winner, joined GH in 2005.

Exactly how these two former Carlys will play into the show is still being kept a secret.
If you can't get enough of Brown and Braun, you can hear both actresses appear on a special Carlypalooza edition of Soap Central Live, where we secretly reunited the two actresses with their on-screen mom, Jackie Zeman (Bobbie Spencer). The episode is available for free on-demand from any Internet-connected device. Click here to listen or download the show now.
