General Hospital star Denise Alexander is reprising her role as Laura's mom, Dr. Lesley Webber, for the soap's anniversary and a special tribute episode honoring the late Susan Brown (ex-Dr. Gail Adams Baldwin).
Fans of General Hospital are about to get a heartwarming blast from the past: in celebration of the soap's upcoming 56th anniversary, Denise Alexander is making a return as Dr. Lesley Webber.
The New York native is stepping back into the shoes of Laura's (Genie Francis) mom for an episode that honors Dr. Gail Adams Baldwin, previously played by Susan Brown, who passed away in August. According to EW, Gail's final wish was to have all her friends together, so Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) arranges the big gathering.

In a special sneak peek of Alexander's return, Laura is heard telling her mother, "I remember when I was a candy striper, and I was so proud that my mother was a doctor in the hospital. I was really fortunate to have a role model like you."
Alexander originated the role of Lesley in 1973 and played the character until 1984. She returned again from 1996 to 2009, and made return appearances in 2013 and 2017. Alexander's other daytime credits include the roles of Sister Beatrice on Sunset Beach, Mary McKinnon on Another World, and Susan Hunter on Days of our Lives.
Watch for Denise Alexander's upcoming GH return on April 2, just one day after the ABC soap opera celebrates its 56th anniversary.
