Rumors are swirling that Duke is facing his final days in Port Charles.
In a bit of news that's sure to upset many General Hospital fans, it seems Ian Buchanan (Duke Lavery) may be on his way out.
Television reporter Michael Logan tweeted that the character is almost certainly headed off the canvas in a tragic sequence of events. "SO WRONG I'm hearing Ian Buchanan out at #GH in dire plot twist," he wrote, noting that an ABC rep had no comment. "Fantastic actor. Legacy character. Poor decision."
Buchanan originated the character of Duke in 1986 and stayed on the canvas until 1989. Greg Beecroft stepped in for a short time from 1989 to 1990 as Jonathan Paget, who masqueraded as Duke during his time in Port Charles. Buchanan then returned to the role in 2012 after stints as Days of our Lives' Ian McAllister, The Bold and the Beautiful's Dr. James Warwick, and All My Children's Greg Madden.
How will you feel if GH really does intend to let Buchanan go? We want to hear from you -- so drop your comments in the Comments section below, tweet about it on Twitter, share it on Facebook, or chat about it on our Message Boards.
