The emotional song "We Weren't Done with This Yet" featured on the March 23 episode of General Hospital was written by William Lipton! Find out how you can listen to the song and what inspired the young actor to write such a beautiful ballad for his character, Cameron Webber.
General Hospital fans who tuned in to the Tuesday, March 23, episode of the ABC soap opera had the pleasure of watching Cameron Webber perform a song called "We Weren't Done with This Yet." The heartbroken character sang the beautiful ballad as a way to express his grief over the death of Franco (Roger Howarth), and while the performance was impressive, so is the song credit: the gorgeous tune was written by Cameron's portrayer, William Lipton.
Shortly before the episode aired, GH's official Twitter handle shared the song's details and a Soundcloud link where fans can listen to the tune. In response, Lipton shared, "Thank you @valentinifrank @GHmusicPG and everyone at @GeneralHospital for allowing me the opportunity to write and perform this song. And thank you all for every single kind and warm message you have sent me! It truly means the world!"

In the official Soundcloud description of "We Weren't Done with This Yet," Lipton explains that while he wrote the song for General Hospital to commemorate the recent death of Franco Baldwin, the lyrics extend beyond the world of Port Charles.
"Many of us have felt the heartbreak of losing a loved one in many different ways. The song expresses the unfairness and anger associated with an unfinished relationship," Lipton shares. "This release on Soundcloud will be followed by a release on all streaming and purchasing platforms. Hope you stay healthy and safe."
Lipton, who took on the role of GH's Cameron in 2018, has a long history in music. As Soap Central previously reported, the actor is a member of the band WJM, which strives to help the community by creating songs about voting, social justice, and other important topics. He also recently used some of his downtime during the COVID-19 pandemic to guest-star on the video podcast Bedroom Duet, where he and the show's host, Ky Baldwin, performed a rendition of the Justin Bieber and Dan + Shay song "10,000 Hours."
Last year, Lipton received a Daytime Emmy nomination in the Outstanding Original Song category for his song "North Star."
