General Hospital will once again feature Joshua James Benard, son of Port Charles staple Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos), in a guest-starring role.
General Hospital's Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos) is one of the most talented soap stars on the planet, and daytime fans have seen that when it comes to the actor's son, Joshua, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. The young actor wowed viewers when he appeared on GH as a Young Sonny back in 2018, and the good news is that he's set to bring his talents to the ABC soap once more.
Maurice shared the news of his son's soap appearance via a Twitter post, writing, "A little birdie told me Joshua Benard is going to be on GH 16th of March." The actor's post was accompanied by a video of Joshua playing the guitar and singing his own version of the Elvis Presley hit "Can't Help Falling in Love."

Joshua first appeared on GH four years ago for his real-life father's 25th anniversary as Sonny. The special episode featured Sonny dreaming of what his life would have been like if he had chosen a law-abiding life instead of becoming a mob boss, and Joshua played a young version of the character in the flashback scenes.
GH has yet to reveal how Joshua will fit into storyline this go-around, but the young actor's IMDb page reveals that he will once again be playing Young Sonny, which means viewers will learn even more about the beloved character's past.
When asked if his son would consider coming to GH full-time, perhaps as part of the show's popular teen scene, Benard revealed that the idea is great, but Joshua has been busy working on an HBO project set to be released this summer.
In addition to GH, Joshua James Benard has appeared on Station 19 and in the short film Boys of a Certain Age. He also played a younger version of his father's character, Joshua, in the 2017 film The Ghost and the Whale.
