Jason's return story has General Hospital fans talking. See what they have to say.
General Hospital's Steve Burton and Jason Morgan have been back on the Port Charles scene for a little over a week, and fans have been on the edge of their seats, wondering what's going to happen next. They have also been busy on social media, giving their take on this big comeback.
The soap already got a boost in ratings during Burton's first week back on-screen, up by 166,000 viewers overall, according to Soap Opera Network, as some lapsed viewers tuned in again to see what Jason's been up to the last two years.
So far, what's played out on-screen has enraged some fanbases and made others happy, while more neutral fans have had a wait-and-see attitude.

One thing most fans can agree on was that Jason's first scenes with his now-teenage son Danny were both in character and heartwarming.
"Jason and Danny have instant chemistry. They are a good match!" wrote X (formerly known as Twitter) user paula_30troad.
@HotVannaNights was glad to see Danny discover Jason in the Quartermaine boathouse and not another random Q.
"SO happy Danny finds Jason," she tweeted. "This is what Jason return should be about, him and his boys."
Of course, Jason has another son, Jake, and fans are still waiting for that reunion, while enjoying the one with Danny. They also want to see Jason get his moment with Jake's mom, Elizabeth. She was the one some fans hoped would nurse Jason back to health after he was shot.
"I like Danny finding Jason, but the follow up should've been Jake.. who suggests trusting his Mom THE NURSE to help. Period. Point blank. And going in ANY other direction is stupid," @RedGlassDoves said.
Jason's reunions with Carly and later Michael have left some fans thrilled while others find themselves scratching their heads.
"'I knew it wasn't you,'" @MySweet_Time wrote, referring to Michael telling Jason he believed he didn't shoot Dante. "The way Michael didn't hesitate with Jason, the way Carly believed in him. Mother and son believing in the first person that believed in them. My heart has grown ten sizes bigger."
@CheyanneBabeey concurred with, "And this is why Jason goes all out for Carly and Michael. Look at all the others who know Jason doubting him."
In contrast, @reka_1215 is puzzled by the way Jason and Carly's relationship is being portrayed, just in the way many fans were confused by their out-of-nowhere declaration of love before they briefly married in 2021.
"I wanna know why they're writing Jarly as some grand love when Jason has never been into Carly 'that way' ever," she tweeted. "I don't give a damn what Carly wants...why would I root for them to be together when Jason has never ever seem into it?"
Jasam -- Jason and Sam -- fans are still waiting for them to have that reunion moment but are also pleased with the way Sam has reacted to learning Jason is alive. Her emotions have been all over the place, but as she sat vigil by a shot Dante, fury took over on the March 13 episode.
"I'm kinda here for a fiery Sam coming at Jason, they need to have that heated conversation and leave everything all out on the table in order to move forward," tweeted @fangirl_810_. "And I know Steve and Kelly would slay that material."
With the story still playing out amidst a GH head writer switch, there are bound to be bumps in the road, but this story has fans talking, agreeing, and disagreeing across social media as they watch the plot play out.
