Wally Kurth will reprise the role of Ned Ashton this spring. The recently pre-nominated actor first appeared as General Hospital's Ned in 1992. The actor also has a recurring role on Days of our Lives.
Long-time General Hospital favorite Wallace Kurth (Ned Ashton) will soon be reappearing in Port Charles. The actor took to Twitter to inform fans, and to thank them for their patience.
"[W]ell, I had nice day in Port Charles yesterday," Kurth shared. "Yes, Ned will be arriving in town soon. Stay tuned. Thanks for waiting!"
Kurth joined the cast of General Hospital in 1992. The actor was taken off-contract in 2005 for what the show called a storyline-dictated exit. His most recent appearance on GH was a one-day guest spot in January 2013.

In 2009, Kurth returned to his old stomping grounds at Days of our Lives, reprising the role of Justin Kiriakis. Earlier this month, Kurth earned a Daytime Emmy pre-nomination in the Outstanding Supporting Actor field.
"Very excited to be on the Pre-nomination list for the Emmys this year. Looks to be a crowded field," Kurth said.
Kurth's return to GH was permitted because he is not under contract to Days of our Lives. The actor could, conceivably, also return to work at DAYS.
Kurth will first air on April 15. The actor has hinted that he return is open-ended, and that he could be around for some time.
