General Hospital's Kirsten Storms (Maxie Jones) is taking another leave of absence from the ABC soap.
General Hospital fans will once again have to survive without Kirsten Storms (Maxie Jones) because the actress is taking another break from the ABC soap opera. The Florida native's leave of absence is reportedly due to more personal issues.
Storms's upcoming break, which Daytime Confidential first reported, is actually her fourth since joining the soap in 2005. Her first break came in 2011 while she dealt with endometriosis. Days of our Lives star Jen Lilley (ex-Theresa Donovan) filled in for the actress while she was away.

Storms took a maternity break in 2014 after the birth of her daughter, Harper Rose, whom she shares with former GH star Brandon Barash (ex-Johnny Zacchara). And she was temporarily replaced by DAYS star Molly Burnett (ex-Melanie Jonas) while she dealt with post-divorce skin issues in 2016.
Though Storms is taking off once again, a rep for the show confirmed to Soaps In Depth that her status with the show remains unchanged. At this time, there's no indication that the role of Maxie will be temporarily recast.
UPDATE (May 6, 2017): Storms has opened up about why she's taken time off from GH. You can read that story here.
