You'll soon see General Hospital's William Lipton in a brand-new Amazon series that features his musical talents.
General Hospital fans were thrilled when William Lipton made his way back to the soap so Cameron could attend Spencer's memorial, but now the actor has a new project that might keep him even further from the soap he called home during his teenage years.
When Lipton left GH last year, it was so he could focus on his college studies, but he certainly didn't leave his musical roots behind. Like Cameron, Lipton sings and plays guitar, leading to his real-life band, the Runaround, landing a guest spot on Netflix's Outer Banks in March of 2023. Now, the band is getting its own series that's been picked up by Amazon.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, The Runarounds will not be a spin-off of Outer Banks but instead a stand-alone series following the fictional adventures of Lipton's real-life band.

In fact, Lipton formed the band back in 2021 specifically for Outer Banks after the show's producer put out a casting call for a musical group. Before they ever made their Outer Banks debut, they performed on GH when Cam dedicated a song to his good friend Trina at the Savoy in 2022.
Other members of the Runarounds include Axel Ellis, Jeremy Yun, Zend Murdock, Jesse Golliher, Lilah Pate, and Kelley Pereira.
When news about the series broke, an excited Lipton took to Instagram to post a screenshot of the story, along with a caption reading, "Where are we going, fellas? To the top, Johnny!" echoing a phrase often heard from John Lennon and Paul McCartney of the Beatles.
What this new series means for a future GH return remains to be seen. When a heartbroken Cam left Port Charles for Stanford last spring, he had just broken up with Josslyn Jacks. His mother, Elizabeth, has mentioned he has a new girlfriend, and fans would sure like Cam to bring her home for another visit. Perhaps when Spencer is found alive, Cam could make another appearance and stick around long enough for a cousin reunion.
