General Hospital has hired Passions alum Brook Kerr (ex-Whitney Russell Harris-Crane) to scrub up for the role of a brand-new Port Charles doctor. Find out when she'll be making her ABC soap debut.
A blast from the past is heading to General Hospital: Brook Kerr, who won the hearts of soap fans in her 1999 to 2007 role as Passions' Whitney Russell Harris-Crane, has signed on to the ABC soap opera as a brand-new character. The job marks her return to daytime after a thirteen-year absence.
According to EW, Kerr will be stepping into the shoes of a new Port Charles doctor in early April. Further details surrounding the role are being kept mum, but the outlet released two first-look photos of the actress in her new position -- and it looks like the new PC doc is quite comfortable in her hospital surroundings.

There's no telling what kind of drama the GH writers have in store for Kerr's new character, but Passions fans know that the actress can deliver stellar acting no matter what they throw at her. After all, she already has experience delivering some of the soapiest material in history: Passions' Whitney fell in love with her half-brother Chad (Donn Swaby/Charles Divins) and became a nun to absolve herself of the shame! The pair eventually found out that they weren't related, which freed them to get married, after all.
Kerr left Passions in 2007 and went on to star in TV series like Hawaii Five-0, Westworld, The Grinder, NCIS: Los Angeles, and True Blood.
