Kimberly McCullough opens up about her important return today as General Hospital's Robin Scorpio.
General Hospital viewers were stunned and pleasantly surprised today when Kimberly McCullough made an unexpected return as Robin Scorpio. The only downside to the character's Port Charles visit is the reason she even made an appearance at all: her on-screen mom, Anna (Finola Hughes), has received a life-altering medical diagnosis.
"Frank [Valentini, our executive producer] called and said, We have an important story. Do you want to be a part of it?'" McCullough shared with Soap Opera Digest. "Once he told me that the story was about Anna getting sick, I was like, Oh, gosh, okay, yes! Of course!' I mean, how does Robin not show up when Anna is sick?"
She continues, "It would have been horrible for Robin to miss Maxie's wedding, but how would you explain Robin not being there if Anna was sick? I was very grateful that I did get to be there for the Maxie [Kirsten Storms] and Nathan [Ryan Paevey] wedding and that I got to come back for this story with Anna, too."
