GH's Kathleen Gati joins Winterthorne; character goes head-to-head with Linda Gray

Another familiar soap face has signed on to the much-anticipated web series Winterthorne, and it seems epic catfights could be ahead.

Hot on the heels of the news that Dallas star Linda Gray (ex-Sue Ellen) has joined the new online series, Winterthorne, comes news that General Hospital star Kathleen Gati (Liesl Obrecht) has also come aboard.

According to an official press release, the actress will be playing Valentina Winterthorne, power hungry sister to Joanna Winterthorne (Gray) who will stop at nothing to unearth the big secret that Miranda (Martha Madison; ex-Belle, Days of our Lives) is hiding.

"Kathleen Gati is a powerhouse actress who brings a richness and depth to every role she tackles," says series creator and Emmy-nominee Michael Caruso. "She is so much more than a traditional villain.' She really embodies all the layers required for a role like this. She is really going to turn up the heat in this role. All of us are dying to work with her."

Gati's first order of business is mastering catfight scenes with Gray, as their characters won't exactly see eye-to-eye. "The character is a strict follower of the old ways of the Winterthorne family, which caused a major rift between her and her sister, Joanna," says the press release.

Winterthorne begins production for three weeks in late March both in and out of Los Angeles. Previously announced cast members include Madison, Gray, Gordon Thomson (ex-Walter, DAYS; ex-Hal Freeman, Passions; ex-A.J. Deschanel, Sunset Beach), and Josh Thrower.
