Ryan Peavey says he was thisclose to becoming Christian Grey.

General Hospital's Ryan Paevey (Nathan) is a hit in the soap world, and he's also been charming audiences as a correspondent for Extra as well as a guest co-host of The View. And it was the latter job in which he revealed he auditioned for the role of Christian Grey in the recent blockbuster film 50 Shades of Grey.

The GH actor joined Rosie Perez, Whoopi Goldberg, Nicolle Wallace, and Glee's Naya Rivera on the Tuesday, February 17, episode of the talk show, and when Goldberg discussed that 50 Shades garnered 94 million dollars at the box office during its opening weekend, Peavey announced that he'd actually auditioned for the role of Christian Grey and is partially glad that Jamie Dornan won the part instead.

"I think I have a little bit more respect for women than Christian did, so it's kind of a step outside of my shoes because if you know the character a little bit, it's rough," he explains. "It's rough. My hat's off to Jamie for going there."
