Congratulations are in order for General Hospital, which took home a Writers Guild Award for the fifth time in a row, and for Days of our Lives, whose head writer said "Come on Barbie, let's go party" after its loss to the ABC soap opera.
For the fifth year in a row, the GH writing team took home the Writers Guild of America award in the Daytime Drama category. The show reacted on social media with a retweet from Eden McCoy (Josslyn Jacks), who congratulated the soap with the message: "OH YESSS!! SO HAPPY! Congratulations to the brilliant and talented General Hospital writers. So proud!"

This is the second year in a row that GH beat out fellow nominee Days of our Lives. The NBC soap's head writer, Ron Carlivati, handled yet another loss to GH in an entertaining manner, posting a humorous clip of Barbie dolls in typical Salem situations along with the caption: "Okay, so we didn't win the Writers Guild Award tonight but we at least should have won for best clip!"
GH's writing team consists of head writers Shelly Altman and Christopher Van Etten along with writers Barbara Bloom, Anna Theresa Cascio, Suzanne Flynn, Charlotte Gibson, Lucky Gold, Kate Hall, Elizabeth Korte, Daniel James O'Connor, Donny Sheldon, and Scott Sickles.
