GH alum back for fifth CSI: Miami appearance

Two daytime stars will appear in an episode of CSI: Miami airing next week. One Life to Live star David Fumero makes his first appearance on the series, while former General Hospital player Robert LaSardo is back for a fifth time.

The underlords of crime return to rule the streets of Miami as General Hospital alum Robert LaSardo revives his seedy role as Memmo Fierro in CSI: Miami's "Last Stand" later this month. OLTL's David Fumero joins LaSardo in drama that's sure to raise Miami's crime statistics.

This will be LaSardo's fifth guest appearance on CSI: Miami playing the role of an escaped convict and murderer of Horatio Caine's wife. After slipping through Caine's grasp in a prior episode, LaSardo's Fierro will return to Miami to take control of the city.

David Fumero also guest stars in the episode as Armando Salazar, a millionaire sucked back into his former gang life. For Fumero, filming on the hit primetime drama was like returning to the Miami native's hometown -- sort of. Fumero noted to ABC Soaps in Depth that the show's Long Beach California set amazingly resembled Miami.

The tattoo-laden Robert LaSardo starred as GH's Manny Ruiz from 2005 to 2006 and returned as Mateo Ruiz from 2006 to 2007. On OLTL, David Fumero took over the role of the street-smart Cristian Vega in 1998. His character was presumed dead in 2003, but returned in 2004.

Catch Fumero with LaSardo on CSI: Miami February 20.
