Jeff Kober, who recently joined the cast of General Hospital as nefarious criminal Cyrus Renault, reveals that fans better brace themselves because "Port Charles is a hotbed of change" at the moment.
The powers that be at General Hospital never rest on their laurels when it comes to bringing viewers the ultimate in entertainment, but it sounds like they're going the extra mile for the series' current mob war storyline -- which is turning out to be an explosion of excitement that has many of the show's major characters in the crosshairs. According to a main player in the mob drama, the results could catapult the ABC soap opera into brand-new territory.
Jeff Kober, who recently joined GH as nefarious criminal Cyrus Renault, spoke with Digital Journal about taking on the role of a character who's determined to take out longtime PC staple Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
"That character is interesting," he muses, adding, "Things are happening. Port Charles is a hotbed of change. Things are going to change."

Whatever those changes may be remains a mystery, but with the intensity of the mob war heating up, Kober could be referring to a change in mob power structure, with Sonny being knocked out of the top spot. Worse yet, he could be referring to the loss of certain characters who find themselves as mob war collateral. Fans will have to keep tuning in to General Hospital to find out.
Outside of GH, fans can see Kober in another villainous role via the thriller Dead Sound, which will be released on DVD and digital on Tuesday, March 3. Based on a true story, the film follows a group of college kids who miss the ferry to their graduation party on Block Island and fall prey to a demented fishing boat captain and his sadistic first mate.
"This movie was very topical," Kober teases of Dead Sound, the trailer of which you can view below. "People without money are suffering in this country, and nobody gives a damn. This film really spoke to a lot of people."
