A General Hospital spokesperson has confirmed that Avery Kristen Pohl has filmed her final scenes and exited as resident vixen Esme Prince.
Sad news for fans of Avery Kristen Pohl, who played Esme Prince on General Hospital. Digest is reporting that a GH spokesperson has confirmed that Pohl has exited the show. Her final airdate was on January 31, when Esme ambushed Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) with a syringe filled with an unknown drug. Even though Spencer had been temporarily incapacitated, he managed to rally long enough to pull Esme off Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) before Trina could meet a similar fate -- or worse.
Chavez took a hiatus from GH to film the second season of Netflix's Monster series. Chavez will be playing Lyle Menndez, who, along with his brother Erik, killed their parents in 1996.
After plunging into the Seine in Paris and vanishing without a trace, Spencer and Esme are missing and presumed dead. However, Esme has a history of defying the odds, so how long she will remain missing without a trace remains to be seen.

Pohl joined the cast of GH on August 16, 2021, when Esme followed Spencer from a European boarding school to Port Charles to help him terrorize his stepmother Ava Jerome (Maura West). It would later be revealed that Esme was the daughter of serial killers Heather Webber (Alley Mills) and Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom), and she'd been secretly doing her father's bidding. Esme's fate was sealed in 2022 when she decided to vanquish her rival by framing Trina for posting revenge porn, a crime that nearly landed Trina in prison. Pohl told Digest, "At the end of the day, my job is to help tell a story and to entertain people, and if people are entertained by the fact that they love to loathe me, then I guess my job is done!"
Despite their on-screen animosity, Pohl and Ali forged a close friendship, which made saying goodbye bittersweet. Ali revealed that she and Pohl actually live across the street from each other, so they talk all the time. "But I was still like, 'Dang, I'm not going to see you at work! But I will see you in the neighborhood!'" Ali said. Ali admits that she'll hate not seeing Pohl at work, and there were tears shed on the day that Pohl left.
