Kirsten Storms will not return to General Hospital as previously announced. The actress, who has been sidelined for nearly five months, was expected to return to the role of Maxie in February. Jen Lilley will continue to play the role.
There appears to have been a setback in actress Kirsten Storms's (Maxie Jones) plans to return to General Hospital. Storms will not be returning to work at the end of the month as previously announced.
"Kirsten Storms will not be able to return to General Hospital as soon as originally hoped and announced," a General Hospital spokesperson said in a statement. "Jen Lilley will continue to play Maxie Jones for the foreseeable future."
Storms has been sidelined from General Hospital since September due to an undisclosed medical condition. During a broadcast of the reality series, Dirty Soap, Storms' future sister-in-law revealed that the actress was diagnosed with endometriosis. Storms, it should be noted, has not publically acknowledged what has kept her out of work.
Earlier this month, after Storms had hinted to fans that she'd be headed back to the GH set, a GH rep confirmed the news. Storms was to have first aired in late-February.
In Storms' absence, actress Jen Lilley has taken over as Maxie. She first aired on September 28, 2011, and will continue to air for the foreseeable future.
