Chalk up another big-name return in the General Hospital column. Jack Wagner will reprising the role of Frisco Jones in February. Wagner expressed he was open to the idea, but both sides needed to work out the scheduling. Wagner first appeared on GH in 1984.
Jack Wagner (Frisco Jones) will be returning to General Hospital in February. It's been more than 17 years since the actor last visited Port Charles.
When asked about a possible General Hospital return during a recent promotional tour for a guest stint on ABC's Castle, Wagner acknowledged that he had been contacted about possibly reprising his iconic role to help celebrate GH's 50th anniversary.
"They have called, but there's nothing in ink or anything like that," Wagner explained. "I know it would be pretty special to work with Kristina, my ex-wife, again so we'll see what happens. I know it's around the corner here and if I go back, it would only be for a very short story arc. But I might do it just to honor that show and what it's meant to my career and the fans and to Kristina's career."

Jack and Kristina Wagner (Felicia Jones) first met in the early 1980s when both starred on GH. In 1990, the couple welcomed son Peter, but shortly thereafter, the pair split. They later reunited and were married in December 1993. A year later, the couple had a second son, Harrison. In February 2001, the couple revealed that they had separated and that they planned to divorce. However, by 2004, the couple was apparently working to reconcile their differences. Ultimately, in March 2005, the Wagners announced that they were ending their marriage.
Their prior relationship, according to executive producer Frank Valentini, was something that he considered when reaching out to Jack Wagner.
"I feel I have to respect people's privacy," Valentini told TV Guide Magazine. "I just let [Kristina] know that we were going to be doing a story that involved Frisco Jones, because as an actor that's what she needed to know, and she was fantastic. They get along great and have a family, so it's all good."
Valentini admitted being "very excited" about Wagner's return, but noted that the actor's professional dance card is quite full and will require some schedule tweaking.
Wagner first appeared on General Hospital in 1984, and aired on the show through 1991. He later returned in 1994 and 1995. The actor also appeared for nine years on The Bold and the Beautiful, where he played the role of Dominick "Nick" Marone. Elsewhere in daytime, Wagner appeared on Santa Barbara and Sunset Beach. Outside of daytime, he's known to primetime viewers as Dr. Peter Burns on Melrose Place.
UPDATE: On January 24, ABC confirmed that Wagner is returning to the show. He'll make his first appearance on February 4.
