General Hospital's Brytni Sarpy (Valerie Spencer) opens up about why she's been spending time in the hospital.
General Hospital fans have been worried about Brytni Sarpy (Valerie Spencer) due to rumors she's been in the hospital. And while it's true that the actress has been spending time in a medical facility, she took to social media to assuage fears and let viewers know why.
"For everyone who has asked, my dad's been in the hospital, not me," she wrote on Instagram. "He's feeling much better but can definitely use your love and prayers... just don't tell him (if you know him) that I posted this, he didn't find the humor in me documenting his trip, and has been trying to break out of the hospital all day..."

Sarpy has revealed in the past that her father, Mel, suffers from Parkinson's disease. The actress has attended charity events in the past that support finding a cure.
Sarpy joined GH in 2015 during the critically acclaimed Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) exit storyline. She was bumped down to recurring status this past December but stayed positive about the move, sharing that she was "graciously allotted the opportunity to pursue other acting endeavors" and will "still be popping into Port Chuck every now and again."
