Emma Samms is headed back to General Hospital next month. The actress is the latest 1980s soap star -- following Finola Hughes and Tristan Rogers -- that is headed back to the ABC soap.
ABC is once again turning back the General Hospital clock -- to the 1980s. Award-winning actress Emma Samms returns to reprise the role of Holly Sutton Scorpio and make a return appearance in Port Charles.
TVLine reports that Samms will reprise her General Hospital role in late February -- and there's been quite a bit of whispering that her return may help usher out her on-screen son, Nathan Parsons (Ethan Lovett).
Samms originated the role of Holly in 1982. After leaving General Hospital in 1985, Samms went on to appear on the primetime soap, Dynasty, and later starred in the Dynasty spin-off, The Colbys. In addition to her soap-related work, Samms has appeared in numerous made-for-television movies and guest-starred on countless primetime series.
Somewhat ironically, Samms returned to General Hospital in 2006 as part of the show's attempt to focus its stories in "legacy characters." Now, six years later, the show is again bringing back established characters from its past. Tristan Rogers (Robert Scorpio) and Finola Hughes (Anna Devane) are also again returning to the show
Samms' most recent appearance on GH came in June 2009.
